Robert Pattinson’s cameo in The Penguin
Story
After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka the Penguin, stages a showdown to take over Gotham’s criminal underworld. Aside from a Bat-signal in the season finale, we never got to see him. In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where was Batman? Colin Farrell fought hard to get his own version of “The Penguin’s Smoking Tobacco” in Batman (2022), but he failed.
The DC Studios logo is on a rainy Gotham alley
However, in his own series, the character is depicted as an occasional tobacco user, preferring cigars. An umbrella falls and the logo is replaced with the Warner Bros. logo. Graham Norton and the cast: Lady Gaga/Demi Moore/Colin Farrell/Richard Ayoade/Jack Savoretti (2024).
Farrell STEALS this episode
He’s impressive. There’s nothing about the character that even hints of Farrell. The New York accent, the sway and limp, the attitude: you’d swear it was someone else. The amazing prosthetics are very realistic and add to the character.
It’s well-written and tense
The acting is gritty and imaginative. There’s nothing cartoonish about it. It’s a great equivalent of Christopher Nolan’s Batman. In fact, I’d say it blows the Marvel line out of the water.
HBO has a legitimate shot
I hope it can get a season 2, but I know it’s limited. Shame.
